10 Celebrities Who Have Ridiculous Phobias

Johnny Depp

If you've suffered from a debilitating fear of clowns for most of your life, you are not alone.
Johnny Depp, a.k.a. Two-time "Sexiest Man Alive" and Mr. Jack Sparrow, is also a victim of coulrophobia.

Pamela Anderson

The most downloaded woman in the history of the Internet fears looking at her likeness on a screen or in the mirror.
Pamela Anderson is spectrophobic, and she can't handle seeing her reflection. If she happens to pop up on the TV while she's in the room, Pamela has somebody turn off the television.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Jo is ornithophobic, meaning birds tend to make her wig out.
While on the red carpet at the premiere of her film 'We Bought a Zoo,' a movie in which she had to deal with peacocks on set, Scarlett said, "I'm only scared of birds...Something about wings and beaks and the flapping. I'm terrified of them."

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston suffers from one of the most common phobias. Jennifer is terrified of flying, which is considered aerophobia (aka aviatophobia or aviophobia). Her fear resulted from one particular flight from Toronto to New York years ago in which the plane flew through an electrical storm.

Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom has a severe case of swinophobia. It's a safe bet you won't find the Aussie hearttrob anywhere near any cute little piggies.

Madonna

Should you hear astraphobia in the same sentence as Madonna, it's not the name of her new hit album or designer fragrance.
The Material Girl has long suffered from astraphobia, which is a paralyzing fear of thunder.

Carmen Electra

Believe it or not, former 'Baywatch' beauty Carmen Electra sufferes from aquaphobia, or an unnatural fear of water. Carmen has said that just being near a body of water is enough to cause her to have a panic attack.

Katie Holmes

One thing scares Katie Holmes even more than the mysterious workings of scientology: raccoons. Katie is absolutely terrified of the trash-digging varmints.
It's a fear too narrow to even have an official name. For now, she has to settle for the broad term of agrizoophobia, or fear of wild animals.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt has a debilitating fear of elevators. There isn't an official name for a fear of riding in an elevator, but the act of doing so can often trigger claustrophobia or agoraphobia.
Jennifer has said, "I simply cannot set foot in a lift if there are too many people in it. If there's four or five people in it, then I just about manage it...I prefer it when it's empty so I can scream if I want to."

Billy Bob Thornton

Billy Bob Thornton arguably has one of the strangest phobias of all celebs. Billy Bob is afraid of French antique furniture.
Many people mistake his fear for being of all antique furnishings, but he has said, "I don't have a phobia about American antiques, it's mostly French." He singled out the "big, old, gold-carved chairs with the velvet cushions - the Louis XIV type" as notable terrors.
